Even with summer over things heated up again last week with a surprise heatwave sweeping the nation to kick of September. As an event caterer that of course meant plenty more outdoor events to attend for Hog Roast Surbiton, and we most certainly know a thing or two about heating the party up when it comes to events! You can’t get much hotter, spicier, or fiery than our Southern Slow Roast menu for your outdoor events, and so there was plenty of southern hospitality to go around for our many events last week.
The Hog Roast Surbiton Southern Slow Roast Menu is our take on the flavours and classic roast dishes of the American South – a place renowned for its heat and excellent cook-out traditions. While we are of course masters of the more British hog roast and other great British roast meets such as beef or lamb, the Americans like to spice things up a bit with more spice rubs, chargrilling, and much more smokiness too in their roasts. Our take on the classics of Texas, Louisiana, Memphis and beyond bring customers all the smoky and fiery goodness that they crave – a menu perfect for when the sun is out and equally as hot as your roast!
Customers were able to enjoy our favoured southern slow roast foods. Our Louisiana stick pork ribs were an excellent choice to go along with a Texan 24 hour beef brisket and Cajun spiced whole chicken. A perfect blend of spice, smoke, and roast goodness. Of course when it comes to American cookouts everyone knows that it is the sides that really take the stage. You’ll find tables stocked full of huge family size portions of sides at any southern slow roast, and ours at Hog Roast Surbiton is of course no different. It couldn’t, for one, be an American menu without the all-American classic of mac and cheese, or corn cobettes served with warm butter, and of course don’t forget the colour with our Memphis style crunchy coleslaw and the creamy potato salad – all staples that go perfect with your roasts!
Hog Roast Surbiton had a great time delivering all of these flavours during the heatwave, and we hope we get a few more opportunities still in autumn!
