With nearly three decades of catering behind us, we at Hog Roast Kingston Upon Thames have been at this for quite some time, but our time and experience pales in comparison to that of one our customers from this past week who just said goodbye to 42 years of work with his company as he finally entered retirement with the help of a celebration catered by the Hog Roast Kingston Upon Thames team.
Keith McClane, a long-time customer of ours, hits 67 this year, so decided it was finally time to hang up his boots and enjoy his twilight years in retirement. Keith leaves behind a massive legacy with his long-time employer of just shy of 42 years, as Keith started all the way from the bottom as an apprentice and worked his way up to being one of the top directors of the grounds maintenance company.
Keith plied his time as an apprentice worker doing all of the hard graft with maintaining client gardens and grounds, before eventually working his way to being a team lead. Some 20 years into the job he then moved into more of an admin-based role before stepping further up the ladder over the next 12 years until he took a vital directors role overseeing regional project scheduling where he remained until his retirement this week.
To celebrate the incredible man, the company had the Hog Roast Kingston Upon Thames team out to serve up his favourite beef roast for Keith and all of his colleagues as they said thanked the company stalwart for his many decades of hard graft. Knowing Keith ourselves having worked with both him and the company over the years, we couldn’t have been more excited to be involved, so our chefs of course made sure that a little extra care was put into Keith’s beloved beef roast (and that he got a larger cut than everyone else, naturally). Our buffet helped play stage to what was a wonderful and frankly emotional night for many. Our Hog Roast Kingston Upon Thames chefs also gifted Keith with an additional promise to halve the cost of his next order with us, as our own form of thanks for the many times we have worked with him.
All the best for retirement, Keith! Don’t be a stranger to the Hog Roast Kingston Upon Thames team and our beef roast!
