Like all businesses, Hog Roast Battersea owes our success to the community that has supported us for years, encouraging our growth and snowballing accomplishments. So, when we get the chance to give back and help those living in our area, we always grab the opportunity with both hands!
Last week, we had the pleasure of attending a fundraising event, which aimed to raise money for important upgrades for a youth centre close by. The team running the centre had planned to refresh the space by kitting it out with all-new equipment and tools for helping to keep the young people in the area amused while also helping them to build key life skills.
Knowing that this massive renovation wouldn’t come cheap, the head of this project, Leah, had decided to get the entire community involved in the cause. And although putting together the fundraising event on a tight budget proved challenging, Leah managed to secure a bouncy castle for the children to play on, and one of the team members from the centre volunteered to paint the guests’ faces for a small fee. On top of that, Hog Roast Battersea’s affordable catering solutions meant that Leah was able to feed everyone for a fair price.
Our catering crew were more than happy to help out at this event, and on the day of the fundraiser, our team worked tirelessly to prepare enough food for everyone.
The menu Leah had chosen was a simple one, consisting of either gluten-free or wholemeal rolls packed with fork-tender pulled pork, crispy crackling, savoury onion stuffing and a dollop of applesauce or grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs with tzatziki dip and a punchy sweet chilli sauce. Both dishes were served with mixed sweet potato and regular fries with a choice of condiments for extra flavour.
The guests were all extremely impressed with the food Hog Roast Battersea served, and many were so blown away by the flavours that they wanted to know the secret behind the taste! Paired with the entertainment options for children and the raffle, this was a fantastic afternoon, which saw Leah and the youth centre team smash their target!
