Spitting Pig LewishamLast week Hog Roast Lewisham was doing the food for the entire wedding at a local family-run farm. The farmer’s daughter Luvena was getting married and since she had been there her whole life and was even born there, she wanted the farm to play a part in her special day. Luvena and her new husband Tim had decided on a tepee marquee. Rather than having round tables, they had gone for three long tables to fit everyone in.

The food began with some luscious canapés as people arrived back from the ceremony. Hog Roast Lewisham’s  team circled the designated area with tempting treats such as mini-Yorkshire puddings filled with succulent fillet of beef, a selection of flavoursome mini quiches, inviting gourmet sausages smothered in delicious honey and mustard sauce and halloumi chunks with a red onion marmalade glaze. These were served alongside the welcome drinks which was warmed cider, perfect for the chilly day.

Once the official wedding photos had been taken, including ones with Luvena’s beloved Alpacas, everyone made their way into the tepee to cheer on the newlyweds. The wedding breakfast was then served. The bridal party and guests could choose from a whole-roasted pig with all the trimmings or a whole-roasted lamb. As well as the succulent meats, they dove into creamy Dauphinoise potatoes, crunchy coleslaw, fresh mixed salad and juicy tomato and mozzarella salad.

Luvena and Tim cut the wedding cake before doing the speeches, this gave Hog Roast Lewisham’s team to slice it up with some seasonal berries and cream for dessert which was served after the final speech. Any cake left over was wrapped in a napkin for the evening guests to enjoy. Hog Roast Lewisham

Luvena and Tim had asked for Hog Roast Lewisham’s scrumptious bacon and sausage baps for their evening reception food which they felt was the perfect choice. They wanted something yummy but not too heavy as everyone had been invited to both day and evening of the wedding.
